Cathy Avila-LinnConsultant, Coach, Educator, & FacilitatorCathy specializes in social justice education, organizational development, and leadership coaching. Since 2006, Cathy’s consulting practice has supported hundreds of clients in the areas of organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, leadership, equity, and personal development. Cathy works with individuals and teams to discover creative, culturally appropriate strategies to advance their personal and organizational development.
Cathy is a masterful coach. She inspires deep reflection, exploration, and discovery across diverse contexts. She guides and encourages individuals and groups to grapple with the complexities of ideas, issues, and practices given the multiple contexts in which we live and work. Throughout her 30-year career in higher education, Cathy has designed and implemented a variety of leadership development opportunities for diverse youth and adults, including comprehensive university-wide programs, student advisory boards, intensive leadership development and professional development programs grounded in justice, inclusion, and equity. Cathy utilizes the knowledge and skills gained through her experiences as the founding Director of the Center for Community Outreach and Service-Learning at Texas Christian University, the Director of Student Development and Leadership Programs at the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University, and as the director of California Campus Compact’s Bridge-Building Leadership Initiative, a comprehensive professional development program designed to cultivate and retain both emerging and long-time leaders of color in the field of service-learning and civic engagement at colleges and universities throughout California. Cathy has a strong commitment to creating a more just world. Her experiences and talents enable her to model and inspire others to be effective leaders that value and promote our common humanity, social equity and justice. Of Mexican heritage, Cathy was born in Carmel, California and she currently lives in San José, California. |

C.J.Chief of EverythingSelf-appointed alpha dog, CJ is known as the 100-pound Chihuahua because he really knows how to throw his weight around. A born leader, CJ supervises daily activities and carefully inventories the fidgets and noise makers. He has pronounced himself Employee of the Month on many occasions. CJ lives by the motto, "There's a rebel lying deep in my soul."
